Woman and child walk through the flood waters in east Jakarta, Indonesia. Floods that had receded on Sunday night but rose again on Monday morning. The flooding was caused by the overflow of Sunter River.
Some perspective for people not from Australia. More Aussie land is currently burning than exists in the entire country of Belgium. The smoke is causing breathing problems in New Zealand, 2,000km away. 200 homes have been destroyed. Half a billion animals have been killed. Streets in the district of Satkhira, in southern Bangladesh, are flooded after months of heavy rain – people travel by boat to reach the local shop. 🇧🇩
Refugees carry wood back to their shelters in Kutupalong megacamp, to use as cooking fuel. With the high level of deforestation which has taken place after the massive refugee influx last year, people now need to walk several hours to find firewood.
Noor Complex Solar Power Plant in Morocco is located in the Sahara Desert and it is the world’s largest concentrated solar power plant. The Solar Plant capacity is of 580 megawatts, and by 2020, it is expected to provide electricity for over 1 million people, once completed. ☀️ 🇲🇦 .
It doesn’t matter where you live, parents want their children to learn and have access to the world’s information. The story about wind power is really positive. Despite what some world leaders say, they don’t kills loads of bird and give you cancer. What they do, is provide one of the cheapest forms of clean energy. 💨
